NiceInput is an "AI tool keyboard". The keyboard never logs, stores, or uploads your typing history. Text is sent for processing only when you explicitly tap an AI action such as Translate or Polish — and only the selected text (or the current line).
Where your text goes, per mode
Official mode: your text is relayed through our servers to the model provider to generate the result. We don't persist your text; we keep usage metadata (token counts, credits used, timestamps, model name) for billing.
Bring-your-own-key (BYOK) mode: your text goes directly from your device to the provider you chose (OpenAI / Anthropic / Google, etc.) and never touches our servers. Your API key is stored only on your device.
Voice
Signed out or in BYOK mode, speech recognition runs on your device with Apple's engine — audio never leaves your device. Signed in to official mode, cloud recognition is used by default: uploaded audio is used only to produce the text and is discarded after transcription — we never store your audio. You can switch back to on-device recognition in Settings.
Account information (official mode only)
Email address (for sign-in); with Google sign-in we only receive your email and account identifier — no contacts or other data.
Credit balance, purchase records (Apple transaction id, product, amount), and usage metadata.
What we don't do
No ads; we never sell any data to third parties.
We don't collect typing history, clipboard contents, contacts, or location.
In BYOK mode we never touch your text or your key.
Data deletion & contact
To delete your account and all related data, email hi@niceinput.com — we'll handle it within 7 days.
This policy is provided in multiple languages for convenience; if versions differ, the English version prevails.
